"I am retired after working 31 years as a petroleum geophysicist for Phillips Petroleum Co., Schlumberger, and BHP Billiton.  Currently I volunteer at the Houston Museum of Natural Science as a docent leading tours and explaining artifacts to the public in several of the Halls (Energy, Paleo, Gem and Minerals, Texas Wildlife, Egypt, and Native North, Meso, and South Americans), as a Master Naturalist monitoring water quality of a nearby stream and helping to restore the Prairie northwest of Houston, and as a Sea Camp counselor at TAMU-Galveston for a week each summer.  I also serve as a volunteer treasurer for my homeowner's association.  In September I will receive a recognition award for my work as a Judging Co-Chair at the 2015 GCAGS (Gulf Coast Association of Geological Societies) Convention in Houston."

"When I am not volunteering and doing projects around the house, I am traveling. This year I spent 2 weeks camping and canoeing in Big Bend National Park, 3 weeks in Peru, and 2 weeks in Chicago and Wisconsin visiting relatives. This Fall, I expect to do more canoeing and camping, visit friends in Colorado, and snorkel in the Caribbean."
