Ernest Mancini ’74 receives 2016 Marcus Milling Legendary Geoscientist Medal

Congratulations to former professor and Ph.D. student Dr. Ernest A. Mancini ‘74 on being selected as the recipient of the 2016 Marcus Milling Legendary Geoscientist Medal.
Dr. Mancini received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M in 1974. He was named the first director of the Berg-Hughes Center in 2010, and also served as Research Professor in Geology & Geophysics.
“My time both as a student at TAMU and in being part of the early days of the BHC (Berg-Hughes Center) contributed significantly to my selection for this award”, says he says.
The award will be presented at the AGI/GSA meeting in Denver this Fall.
The Marcus Milling Legendary Geoscientist Medal is awarded to individuals with consistent contributions of high-quality scientific achievements and service to the Earth sciences that produces lasting, historic value.
